Skin Needling
Advanced skin needling is available utilising the latest technology. This assists with acne scars and wound healing, as well as reducing wrinkles and fine lines, stretch marks and minimising pore size. The Dermapen works by natural collagen stimulation and skin tightening, in order to assist with rejuvenation.
This Skin Needling technique offers unparalleled collagen induction by harnessing the body’s innate ability to re-grow and repair the skin as a response to micro-damage. This small, hand-held device delivers up to 1,300 micro punctures per second into the skin, thus stimulating the production of collagen and elastin and normalising various skin functions.
It is less painful, results in less bleeding and is more efficient for facial contours than the older style dermal rollers, whilst delivering equivalent results. A topical anaesthetic cream is applied prior to treatment, in order to minimise discomfort.
A series of 4 – 6 treatments may be advised for optimal results.
Skin needling produces comparable results to ‘ablative techniques’ such as lasers, dermabrasion and deep chemical peels, but is much less invasive and does not require the removal of the skin surface. As a result, healing time is shorter and there is no post-treatment sensitivity to UV light.
