What you need to know about Lip Fillers
Your lips are a very prominent part of your face and over time lips naturally become drier and lose volume, which can create a thinner appearance and loss of definition.

What is involved in the procedure?
The lip filler product is slowly injected using a fully sterile disposable syringe with a very fine needle. We use hyaluronic based fillers and we offer a number of leading brands with soft gel particles that are relatively long lasting.
Does it hurt?
It will sting a little like a normal needle, but we do offer a topical local anaesthetic cream or a nerve block prior to the injection of the dermal filler, if you prefer.
How do you make sure the fillers look natural?
In your free consultation, Dr Watson will discuss with you the desired look you want to achieve. This will allow him to know the volume required for your look. Dr Watson is a big believer in less is more, as if you do too much the look can be too drastic changing your whole appearance.
How often do they need to be redone?
The effects will fade gradually but should last between 6 – 8 months.
How long does it take to see results?
The results from our lip fillers are instant, so you can be practicing your new pout as soon as your appointment is over.
Can the
results be reversed if I don’t like the way it looks?
Yes, they can be, but we don’t normally need to do this. As
we typically recommend starting with a smaller filler amount if it’s your first
experience.
Recovery After Lip Fillers
Is there any downtime following the procedure?
There may be some swelling and bruising associated with the treatment at times for 3 days. This can be minimized by using ice packs after the procedure and avoiding blood thinning medications such as anti-inflammatories (eg. Nurofen) and fish oil supplements in the 3 days leading up to lip treatments.
Are there any risks?
Severe complications from dermal fillers are uncommon, however we always discuss your medical history, as there can sometimes be complications if you have a history of cold-sores.
